Association of Physiologists of India

The Association of Physiologists of India (ASSOPI) was established to promote research across all levels of biological organization and enhance the development of physiological science in India. Its main objective is to disseminate knowledge and encourage research in Clinical & Interventional Physiological Sciences.

Registered under the Societies Act of 1860, ASSOPI organizes various scientific events, including CMEs, workshops, and an Annual International Conference, aimed at fostering collaboration with clinicians and scientists in the biomedical field.

Mission & Vision

Mission

To promote excellence in physiological research and education, and to disseminate knowledge in Clinical & Interventional Physiological Sciences across India and internationally.

Vision

To be the leading organization in India for advancement of physiological sciences, fostering innovation, collaboration, and the application of physiology in clinical practice and public health.

Preventive and Promotive Physiology

Presently, lifestyle disorders such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, heart diseases etc. have become more prevalent globally, especially in Indian subcontinent primarily due to abrupt change in style of living and food habits, and increased stress in social life. These diseases are the major cause of morbidity and mortality throughout the world.

Physiology will play a major role in the treatment of these diseases, in alleviation of these problems and in prevention of these diseases through promotion of public health in general. Therefore, transforming physiology into more preventive and promotive (Preventive and Promotive Physiology) subject is primary goal of Association of Physiologists of India (ASSOPI).

Key Activities
